Private equity giant KKR has announced a series of changes to its leadership team in Asia Pacific

KKR appoints APAC head Ming Liu as executive chairman for the region, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing a letter sent to investors.  

Hiro Hirano will become deputy executive chairman and relinquish his role as co-head of private equity while maintaining his role as head of Japan. Gaurav Trehan will become the sole head of private equity for APAC, in addition to his role as head of India.

In addition, the report also notes that APAC private equity co-head and head of Southeast Asia Ashish Shastry as well as Southeast Asia partner Jaka Prasetya will become advisors. Recently hired ex-TPG Capital executive Akshay Tanna has also been charged with overseeing the India private equity business.
