The current co-CEO takes full reigns of the investment business and will remain based in Asia. 

British asset manager abrdn indicated in an announcement Thursday that Rene Buehlmann will become the sole CEO of its investments business.

He originally joined the firm in 2021 as the chief executive of the APAC business, after which he was subsequently appointed co-CEO of the group's investment business later that same year.

Familiar Face

He is a familiar face in senior Swiss banking circles, after having spent almost 30 years at UBS in various leadership capacities and roles in Asia, Switzerland, and the US.

abdrn also said that he would be supported by Peter Branner, who joined as its new chief investment officer in May.
