J.P. Morgan Asset Management is growing its exchange-traded fund (ETF) team in Asia with the addition of a new specialist formerly of Blackrock’s iShares, the firm announced in a statement.

Based in Hong Kong, Rory Caines reports to Sean Cunningham, head of ETFs in Asia. In his new role, he will work with the Asia exchange-traded fund (ETF) team to advance J.P. Morgan Asset Management's ETF product strategy in APAC and build and strengthen ETF client relationships in the region.

Caines was previously vice president, capital markets and fixed income ETF at Blackrock. He spent more than six years at the firm, after joining its iShares graduate program in London in 2013.

ETF Sales Team Restructures

In April, the firm moved to a regional model and made a number of changes to its ETF sales team, with Olivier Paquier heading ETF distribution for EMEA, Philippe El-Asmar heading ETF distribution for Asia-Pacific, and Bryon Lake moving to the U.S. to head ETF distribution for Americas.

The same month, the firm appointed Sherene Ban as head of Singapore and Southeast Asia, replacing Steven Billet, who left the role in February after six years overseeing its business in Southeast Asia.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management's global ETF suite features more than 58 product offerings (34 listed in the U.S., 24 listed in Europe) with over $28 billion in assets under management as of May 8, 2020.
