The new role focuses on developing long-term partnerships with insurance companies and brokers with the appetite to embed Beazley’s specialist products into their insurance offerings.

U.K.-based specialist insurer Beazley has named Byran Lee as head of partnerships for Asia-Pacific, a newly created role that will see him responsible for leading the insurer’s distribution strategy and key relationships across the region, the firm announced in a press release.

Lee, who joined the firm in 2006, was involved in establishing its Singapore office, now its Asic Pacific underwriting hub. He will continue to hold his position as principal officer for Singapore, the announcement said.

Growing Local Presence

The firm, which operates on the Lloyd's Asia platform, is currently investing in strategic appointments to increase its local underwriting presence.  It also writes reinsurance business through Lloyd’s Insurance Company (China) and has a strategic partnership with Hong Kong-based managing general agent Pegasus.
