Credit Suisse has found a successor to John Knox to become CEO of Australia from Deutsche Bank’s operations in Hong Kong.

Former Asia Pacific head of corporate finance at Deutsche Bank, Richard Gibb, has been hired to run Credit Suisse’s business in Australia and is expected to start in October, according to «AFR» reports (paywall).

Gibb spent 10 years at Deutsche Bank and prior to his corporate finance role, he a New York-based global head of financial institutions. His 30-year career in investment banking includes senior leadership roles with Merril Lynch, Bankers Trust and Westpac across Hong Kong, New York, and Sydney.

Strong Talent

Gibb is expected to oversee Australia’s full franchise across investment banking and capital markets, private banking, markets, and financing.

He leaves with our best wishes for the future,» he added.

Knox is expected to leave the bank at the end of the year.
