Läderach Sweetens Japan with Tokyo and Yokohama Debut

Swiss premium chocolatier Läderach makes its debut in Japan with openings in Tokyo and Yokohama, marking a milestone in its global expansion.

Swiss premium chocolate producer Läderach has entered the Japanese market with a bold move: three new chocolateries opening simultaneously.

Two stores are located in Tokyo’s famous Ginza shopping district, including one inside the Ginza SIX mall (pictured below), while a third store has opened in the Mark IS mall in Yokohama.

Earlier this year, Läderach successfully launched its Japanese online store. Now, with physical stores in Tokyo and Yokohama, customers can experience the full variety of fresh Swiss chocolate in person for the first time.

«Japan is for us a significant market with a deep appreciation for quality, craftsmanship and aesthetics – values that guide our work with chocolate,» said Nathanael Hausmann, Chief Sales Officer at Läderach.

«We are delighted to now be present with our own chocolateries in Tokyo and Yokohama and to share our passion for chocolate with the people of Japan,» he added.

Building a Global Footprint

With the expansion into Japan, Läderach is now represented in 27 countries worldwide, operating more than 230 chocolateries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North America. The company employs over 2,500 people from more than 80 nations.

Founded in 1962, the family-owned Swiss chocolatier is renowned for its fresh chocolate creations, from delicate truffles to its iconic «FrischSchoggi.»

Today, under the leadership of the Läderach family’s third generation, the company continues to blend tradition with innovation while producing all its chocolate exclusively in the Swiss canton of Glarus.
