Smile, You're on UOB's TMRW Camera
New customers of UOB's digital bank TMRW now have two reasons to smile. The mobile-only bank targeting Southeast Asia's digital generation announced on Thursday that it has enabled fingerprint and facial biometrics to make it speedier and safer for customers to open bank accounts.
One reason to smile lies in the promise by the mobile-only bank to provide a speedier and safer way to open a new account using enhanced biometrics. TMRW now offers both fingerprint and facial biometrics to enhance the account opening experience, making it the first bank in Thailand to do so.
«A small percentage of customers using fingerprint biometrics to authenticate their account at TMRW kiosks found the experience not seamless enough so we enhanced this with the latest facial recognition technology to ensure a smoother account opening process for all,» said Natee Srirussamee, Head of Retail Digital, UOB (Thai), in a media statement.
Available At Over 300 Kiosks
New customers do not have to worry about accessing their bank accounts when their hands are full, or greasy, too. The enhanced biometrics feature is available at all 350 TMRW authentication kiosks, located in high foot-traffic areas across Greater Bangkok.
Launch in early March this year, TMRW uses artificial intelligence to personalize the banking experience and to offer insights that are specific to each customer. The bank has conducted surveys with more than 4,000 customers to understand more deeply how they engage with TMRW.
Fun Experience
Another effort by TMRW to make customers smile, is via its savings and financial management game, designed by TMRW to help customers meet their savings goal in fun-sized, achievable steps.
«TMRW’s unique data-driven business model puts the customer at the center of all we do. To create an experience that is always engaging for our customers, we will continue to learn from the data insights we gather from their transactions. As their needs and demands change over time, so will the way in which we engage with them,» Srirussamee added.
