Prudential Names Tech Chief for Greater China
British-domiciled insurer Prudential has announced the appointment of a tech chief for the Greater China region.
Prudential has appointed Alex Wong as chief information technology officer (CITO) for Hong Kong and Macau as well as CITO for Greater China, according to a statement. In the role, he will report to Lawrence Lam, CEO, Hong Kong and Anette Bronder, chief technology and operations officer.
Wong is tasked with spearheading the end-to-end technology strategy for Prudential Hong Kong, supporting the company’s growth by enhancing digital experience for customers, employees, financial consultants and business partners. He will also lead and oversee the insurer's technology development for the Greater China region, driving and delivering greater architectural alignment, scalability, and resilience.
Wong has 30 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary technology teams and was most recently chief information officer for Chubb in Hong Kong. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Sun Life and AXA.
