J. Safra Sarasin Nets Former Pictet Chief Asia Strategist
Basel-headquartered J. Safra Sarasin has hired rival Swiss private bank Pictet’s former chief strategist for Asia.
Bank J. Safra Sarasin has appointed Dong Chen as chief investment officer, Asia, according to a statement.
Chen has more than 20 years of experience in macroeconomic research, investment strategy and asset management, joining from Pictet Wealth Management, where he was its chief Asia strategist and head of Asia research. Prior to that, he was a senior economist at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Outside of finance, he was also an assistant economics professor at Peking University and held visiting positions at Yale University and Stanford University.
