Prominent Hong Kong activist investor David Webb has passed away due to metastatic prostate cancer at the age of 60, according to his social media accounts.

British-born Webb was an ex-investment banker who was well-known for his commentary on economic and corporate governance, finance, regulatory and political issues in Hong Kong, published on his own website – Webb-site – since 1998. He was also previously a non-executive director of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
