Manulife Nabs HSBC’s Former Asia CFO

Insurer Manulife has hired a 30-year veteran and HSBC’s former finance chief for Asia Pacific.

Manulife has appointed Ming Lau as chief financial officer (CFO), Asia, according to a statement, effective May 2026. In the role, he will report to global CFO Colin Simpson.

Lau has nearly 30 years of financial services experience, most recently as CFO for HSBC Asia Pacific and the Middle East. He has also held other senior roles at the British lender, including CFO of HSBC China and CFO of HSBC Global Commercial Banking.
