Toronto-headquartered Manulife has announced new appointments to bolster its high net worth and Asia distribution capabilities.
Manulife has appointed Bonnie Qiu as CEO, global high net worth (GHNW) and chief partnership distribution Officer, Asia, according to a statement, effective December 1.
In her expanded remit, Qiu, currently chief distribution officer for Asia, will provide strategic leadership for Asia’s high net worth business, focusing on life insurance solutions to deliver on customer needs and the growth ambition aligned with the regional strategy. She will also continue to lead partnership distribution, including bancassurance, international brokerage, and digital channels.
She will collaborate with Jean Wong, who will retire in the second quarter of 2026 as the current CEO of GHNW after working at the insurer for nearly three decades.

According to the firm, he has been «instrumental in advancing Manulife’s agency transformation strategy, with a strong focus on training and development, quality recruitment, and cultivating top-tier leaders and agents, while championing new technologies to drive productivity and efficiency».
Qiu and Srivastava will both report to Steve Finch, president and CEO of Manulife Asia.
«Bonnie’s expanded role reflects Manulife’s ambition as we prepare for the next chapter of our GHNW business through more diversified and integrated distribution channels, coupled with an expanding regional footprint. Rishi’s appointment to the senior leadership team reinforces the critical role of our data-driven, professional agency force in driving accelerated growth,» commented Finch.
