Agassi and Sabalenka Inspire Hong Kong’s Next Generation

Tennis icons bring lessons in discipline and resilience to Prudential’s youth initiative.

British insurer and asset manager Prudential hosted the «Prudential NextGen Aces» in Hong Kong on 14 October, an event that united tennis legends Andre Agassi and Aryna Sabalenka with rising talents and business leaders.

The showcase – held alongside the «Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2025» – celebrated resilience, discipline, and the long-term mindset shared by elite athletes and those planning for their financial futures.

Platform for Growth and Inspiration

Developed to complement the annual tennis tournament, the NextGen Aces initiative embodies Prudential’s mission to support communities in building both physical and financial well-being. Angel Ng, Prudential’s Regional CEO for Greater China, said the company’s long-standing partnership with the Hong Kong Tennis Open highlights its commitment to holistic growth.

«Having partnered with and protected our customers for almost 180 years, we remain committed to creating value for all our stakeholders,» Ng said. «NextGen Aces brings together icons from different generations to inspire everyone to embrace fitness and serve as role models for up-and-coming talents in Hong Kong,» she added.

Star-Studded On-Court Action

The on-court session saw WTA World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka face off against Anna Kalinskaya in a thrilling exhibition singles match, followed by a light-hearted doubles contest featuring Agassi himself.

The tennis legend demonstrated his trademark finesse in front of an enthusiastic crowd, underscoring how experience and mastery continue to inspire new generations.

Mentorship and Mindset at the Core

Before the matches, a dynamic panel discussion explored themes of leadership and mentorship.

Sabalenka, Hong Kong Olympic fencing gold medallist Vivian Kong, and Angel Ng discussed how both athletes and executives can cultivate environments where young talent thrives.

  • The NextGen Aces event also marked the lead-up to the «Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2025», a major tournament promoting tennis development in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
