Northern Trust Strengthens Southeast Asia Business

Chicago-headquartered asset manager Northern Trust has strengthened its business development team in Southeast Asia with a new appointment.

Northern Trust has appointed Suresh Thiagarajan as head of client development, Southeast Asia, according to a statement. Based in Singapore, he will work collaborate closely with sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, asset managers and consultants across the region.

Thiagarajan joined Northern Trust in 2009 and has held multiple operational and sales role across APAC, most recently as senior digital solutions consultant in Melbourne.

Founded in Chicago in 1889, Northern Trust has offices across the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and APAC. As of June 30, it had $18.1 trillion in assets under custody and administration alongside $1.7 trillion in assets under management.
