SocGen Appoints Singapore Country Head
French banking giant Societe Generale has appointed a new country head for Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Societe Generale has appointed Alvaro Huete as country head for Singapore and Southeast Asia, according to a statement. In the role, he will oversee the Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) business activities across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Based in Singapore, he reports to Jerome Niddam, CEO, Asia Pacific, and will join the APAC management committee.
Huete has 28 years of experience at Societe Generale after joining the bank in 1997 as head of structured finance in Spain. Since 2019, he has been the Paris-based deputy head of global banking and advisory. Prior to joining the French lender, he also worked at Nomura and Banco Urquijo.
Huete succeeds Raphael Cheminat, who will remain with the bank to assume other responsibilities.
