AllianceBernstein Appoints New Asia Chief

US asset manager AllianceBernstein has announced changes to its Asia Pacific leadership, including the appointment of a new regional CEO.

AllianceBernstein (AB) has appointed Michael Thompson as CEO - Asia Pacific, according to a statement. He has 30 years of experience in client management and financial services, currently as global head of institutions. He succeeds Ajai Kaul who will retire at the end of 2025 year after a 32-year career with the firm.

Thompson will relocate from London to Singapore in due course for the new role.

Deputy CEO

In addition, 27-year AB veteran Derek Yung will expand his responsibilities to become APAC deputy CEO on top of his existing role as Taiwan CEO.
