Allspring Bolsters FI Distribution in Hong Kong

US asset manager Allspring Global Investments has announced a new appointment to strengthen its distribution business in Hong Kong.

Allspring has appointed Sam Lo as sales director for Hong Kong, according to a statement. In the role, he will be responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with financial institutions. Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Asia ex-Japan head of financial institutions Priscilla Phoon, who leads the firm's business development strategy for Asia wealth within the international client group.

Lo joined Allspring from Manulife Investment Management, where he served as associate director of partnership management. He started his investment career in 2008 and previously also worked at Premia Partners and Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Allspring is a US investment firm with $611 billion in assets under management, as of June 30. It has more than 370 investment professionals housed in over 20 offices globally. Within Asia, this includes Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.
