Former HSBC Private Banker Joins Barclays in Dubai
Barclays has bolstered its private banking business in the Middle East by hiring an executive who previously worked at British rival HSBC.
Barclays has appointed Farzad Billimoria as head of private bank for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a statement, effective July 1 and subject to regulatory approval. Based in Dubai, he will report to Annabelle Bryde, head of private bank international.
Billimoria has 30 years of financial services experience, most recently working at HSBC as senior executive officer and head of private bank for the UAE. During his tenure, he established HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA offices in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) branch, Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) as well as the British private bank's first onshore booking center in the UAE.
