aberdeen Investments Adds Ex-J.P. Morgan Executive

British asset manager aberdeen Investments has hired a former executive from J.P. Morgan in Singapore.

aberdeen Investments has appointed Isaac Thong as senior investment director on the Asia Pacific equities team, according to a statement, replacing Yoojeong Oh who is leaving the firm to pursue other interests. In the role, Thong will lead aberdeen's Asia income strategies. Based in Singapore, he reports to Flavia Cheong, head of Asia Pacific equities.

Thong has 15 years of experience, most recently at J.P. Morgan Asset Management where he held portfolio manager roles focused on global emerging markets and Asian equities across the UK and Singapore. This includes the co-management of JPM Emerging Markets Income Fund and JPMorgan Global Emerging Markets Income Trust. In his latest capacity as executive director of equities, he managed a $5 billion emerging market income strategy.
