German asset manager DWS has announced the appointment of a new head for the Asia Pacific region.

DWS appoints Vanessa Wang as head of APAC, according to a statement, effective April 1. Wang succeeds Holger Naumann, who will return to Frankfurt as part of a planned retirement. 

Based in Hong Kong, Wang will report to DWS CEO Stefan Hoops. She will also retain her current role as head of client coverage, APAC.

Wang joined Deutsche Bank subsidiary DWS in September 2021 following senior leadership roles at Amundia overseeing the institutional business in North Asia and the US. Previously, she also worked at Citi and Mercer.
