The investment management arm of Allianz adds a new portfolio manager to its Asian equity team.
Yu Zhang joins AllianzGI as a senior portfolio manager in the Asian equity team, according to a statement. Based in Hong Kong, Zhang reports to Raymond Chan, chief investment officer, equity, Asia Pacific.
Zhang has 18 years of experience and joins from Matthews Asia, where he was a portfolio manager for over 12 years, managing several Asian equity portfolios. Prior to that, he worked at Aperta Asset Management from 2005 to 2007.
«Despite a slowdown in global economic growth, Asian markets have seen sustained growth and are set to benefit from the reopening of the Chinese economy,» said Chan.
