Former Credit Suisse CEO Tidjane Thiam isn't suffering from a lack of work, having just landed another prestigious mandate.

Tidjane Thiam who served as Credit Suisse CEO until February 2020, was elected to the board of directors of French advertising and media group Publicis last Wednesday, according to a company statement.

With his appointment, the dual Ivorian-French citizen adds another arrow to his quiver of prestigious mandates of activities. Shortly after leaving Credit Suisse, he joined the board of directors of French fashion and accessories group Kering, as finews.com reported. In April, he was also appointed special envoy to the African Union.

In November 2020, he became chairman of the board of directors of Rwanda Finance, a company responsible for developing and promoting the Kigali International Financial Centre (KIFC).

Last year, he became involved in the business of blank check companies (Spacs), which were highly popular at the time. Thiam is also active in many other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and multinational institutions, including the World Economic Forum (Wef) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Founded in 1926 by Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet, Publicis is today the world's third-largest advertising and media group, with Maurice Lévy at the helm for many years as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
