U.K asset manager M&G hires a former PIMCO executive to lead its institutional sales unit for Asia ex-Japan.

Jaclyn Lim joins M&G as head of institutional sales, Asia ex-Japan in a bid to develop and strengthen institutional relationships in the region.

In her newly created Singapore-based role, Lim will oversee teams based in Hong Kong and Singapore while reporting to Asia ex-Japan head of distribution Berny Lin who joined in January this year from Eastspring Investments.

Lim has over 18 years of asset management experience in Asia, most recently with PIMCO Asia where she oversaw business development and regional institutional relationships in Hong Kong, Macau, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand and intermediary relationships for Southeast Asia ex-Singapore. Also at PIMCO, Lim was the co-chair of the institutional client coverage group overseeing serving efforts for central banks and sovereign wealth funds.

«Bringing [Lim’s] deep understanding of institutional clients’ needs to our wide range of investment strategies and asset classes, we will be better able to deliver innovative solutions to Asian investors who are keen to tap the global and European credit, real estate and alternatives market,» Lin said.
