The strategic joint venture in Thailand between Julius Baer and Siam Commercial Bank has named a new chief executive, effective immediately.

The SCB-Julius Baer wealth management JV appoints Lalitphat Toranavikrai as its new CEO, succeeding Jiralawan Tangivet, who reportedly left in November 2019 after a brief eight-month stint.

Toranavikrai is currently the head of the private banking and FIRST Division at SCB where she has worked for 12 years in various senior wealth management roles. Previously, she was also with RBS Coutts as a senior banker in Singapore and BNP Paribas as the deputy head of corporate and investment banking in Thailand.

«The joint venture brought to fruition the commitment of two solid, long-standing institutions who share a common vision of presenting a holistic wealth management proposition to high net worth clients in Thailand,» said Jimmy Lee, APAC head and member of the executive board at Julius Baer.

«We are very pleased with the appointment as Laliphat will be the ideal person for this important role given her expertise and comprehensive industry knowledge.»
