RBC Wealth Management appoints a new head of wealth management for Asia, succeeding former head Peter Corry who is expected to retires after 22 years with the Canadian lender.

Terence Chow joins the Hong Kong-based new role, effective as November 1, after a six-month stint as RBC Wealth Management’s Asia chief operating officer. Prior to an Asian relocation, Chow had spent 15 years with the bank in various senior roles primarily focused on strategy, execution, planning and operations for RBC’s wealth and capital markets arm in Toronto and New York.

«As we focus on further strengthening our position in a competitive market, Terence’s ability to build and leverage global partnerships to deliver the best of RBC to our clients will bolster the exceptional service we provide in the region,» said Douglas Guzman, group head of RBC Wealth Management and RBC Insurance.

Following the new appointment, RBC Singapore branch CEO, Mike Reed, will lead RBC Wealth Management’s Singapore office and the Southeast Asia private banking team, reporting to Chow.
