Capital Group makes two new hires to bolster its digital capabilities in Asia Pacific, amid trending financial technology growth in the region.

The U.S.-based asset manager hires Veronique Cornu in the newly created role of head of digital for Asia Pacific to develop its digital capabilities and support sales in the region. In the Singapore-baed role, Cornu reports to Derek Perry, London-based managing director of digital and will collaborate in the region with Heidi Sutton, managing director for APAC marketing.

In addition, Capital Group also hired Vineeta Rawat, also based in Singapore to oversee the firm’s global website and build social media presence. Rawat previously worked with the likes of DBS, UBS and BlackRock.

In July this year, the firm appointed its new distribution head for the region, Guy Henrique, who will also oversee Europe’s distribution business when he joins in November. According to Capital Group, it had more than $1.9 trillion in assets under management globally, and the firm reportedly claimed that it would expand its product range with one to new fund launches per year over the next three years.
