Credit Suisse is hiring a veteran investment banker from local rival UOB. The Swiss bank is looking expand in southeast Asia as well and frontier markets like Vietnam.

The Zurich-based bank said it is hiring Andy Tan as head of southeast Asia syndicated loans. The investment banker was hired from UOB, where he held a similar role. 

In 11 years at the Singapore-based bank, Tan helped issuers including PT Tower Bersama, San Miguel, Marina Bay Sands, Transgrid and Indonesia Eximbank raise $20 billion in financing. He has experience in the real estate, financial institutions, telecommunications, technology and energy sectors.

Tan will be responsible for syndicating and distributing loans for Credit Suisse's Asia Pacific Financing Group, or AFG. Tan will be based in Singapore and report to AFG syndication and distribution head Sergio Morita.
