StanChart Nabs Ex-UBS Executive for One-Bank Collaboration

UK-based Standard Chartered has appointed a head of a team focused on collaboration between the investment banking and retail banking units.

Standard Chartered has appointed Raza Jafree as global head, private client sales, according to a statement. Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Sharad Desai, global head, sales and structuring, corporate and investment banking (CIB) and Raymond Ang, global head, private bank and affluent clients, and head wealth and retail banking (WRB), Greater China & North Asia.

In the role, Jafree will lead a team under a new partnership between the CIB and WRB business to offer relevant CIB solutions to sophisticated single-family offices and ultra-high net worth clients within the private bank, as well as SFOs and multi-family offices already managed by CIB.

Jafree joins with almost three decades of experience at Credit Suisse and, subsequently, at UBS, distributing bespoke solutions across products including private and public credit, rates, recourse and non-recourse financing.
