A former Citi executive has returned to the American lender to lead its Taiwan corporate banking unit.
Citi has appointed Chelsea Chu as head of corporate banking for Taiwan, according to a statement. Based in Taipei, she will be responsible for reliving the bank’s platform across all client segments in the market. She has 28 years of banking experience, most recently at ANZ where she was head of corporate coverage for Taiwan. She returns to Citi where she previously spent 20 years covering large corporate clients across industries in Taiwan.
«We are delighted to welcome Chelsea back to Citi. Her deep experience and proven track record will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our client relationships and reinforce our leadership in Taiwan's corporate banking sector,» commented Christie Chang, chair of Citi Taiwan Limited.
«We are confident that under her leadership, Citi’s market leading corporate banking franchise in Taiwan will further accelerate its strong growth trajectory,» said Kaleem Rizvi, Citi’s head of corporate banking for Japan, Australia and North Asia.
According to Dealogic data, Citi has helped raise over $30 billion from global capital markets to support Taiwanese corporate clients since 2020.
