RBC Wealth Management Names Asia COO
The wealth management unit of the Royal Bank of Canada has appointed a new regional operations chief.
RBC has appointed Bee Leng Phua as chief operating officer, wealth management Asia, according to a statement, effective November 1. Based in Singapore, she reports to Rod Ireland, head of wealth management Asia and head of global markets, APAC. In the role, Phua succeeds Kamran Azim who will stay with the bank and continue to serve as head of private banking (Singapore) and Singapore branch deputy CEO.
Phua has 25 years of experience in business and finance transformation. She joined RBC in 2018 and is currently head of APAC business transformation group and finance change management. Prior to joining the Canadian lender, she worked at Credit Suisse and SAP Asia.
RBC Wealth Management in Asia provides banking, brokerage, wealth planning, credit, investments and financial advisory services with a focus on clients in eight strategic locations – Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. It has booking centers in Hong Kong and Singapore alongside an operations hub in Malaysia.
