Boston-headquartered State Street has announced the appointment of a country head for India.

State Street appoints Arindam Banerrji as country head for India, according to a statement. Based in Bengaluru, he reports to Lou Maiuri, president, chief operating officer and head of investment services.

Banerrji joins from Wells Fargo where he was most recently executive vice president and manning director for its operating centers in India and the Philippines. Previously, he also held leadership positions at Ernst & Young India, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan, Larsen & Toubro and Price Waterhouse. 

Since 2004

State Street first established a presence in India in 2004. Today, it has operations in Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune and Vijayawada through wholly-owned as well as majority-owned affiliates.

«India has been an epicenter for our delivery operations for nearly two decades and will continue to play an important role in supporting our clients globally,» Maiuri said. 

Globally, State Street employs 43,000 staff and operates in more than 100 markets. As of 30 June 2024, it had $39.6 trillion in assets under custody and/or administration as well as $3.8 trillion in assets under management.
