Standard Chartered has hired a former JPMorgan executive as its global head of wealth planning and family advisory.

Standard Chartered appoints Mike Tan as global head of wealth planning and family advisory, according to a statement, effective September 25. Based in Singapore, he reports to Raymond Ang, global head of private and affluent banking.

In the new role, Tan will lead the group wealth planning and family advisory team while working alongside front office staff to serve the private bank’s ultra-high net worth clients across its four wealth advisory hubs in Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE and Jersey. The offering includes wealth planning, family office and family governance advice and solutions.

Tan has over 20 years of related experience in various wealthy advisory roles across Hong Kong and Singapore after shifting from the legal sector to banking in 2003. He was most recently part of JPMorgan’s wealthy advisory team in Singapore.
