Lombard Odier’s Asia chief investment officer has left the Swiss pure-play after more than 14 years, finews.asia has learned, with a replacement named internally.

Jean-Louis Nakamura, Lombard Odier’s Asia CIO and Hong Kong office head, has left the bank after 14 years, sources told finews.asia. He will be replaced by Yankai Shao as head of investment solutions for Asia after relocating from Geneva, effective November 1.

Shao joined Lombard Odier in 2011 and has extensive experience in managing ultra-high net worth and institutional client portfolios. When contacted, a spokesperson confirmed the changes.

Nakamura is a renowned industry veteran in private banking, having first joined Lombard Odier’s French office in 2008. He relocated to Asia in 2014 as the bank’s Hong Kong-based CIO for Asia. 

According to his LinkedIn profile, Nakamura is planning to leave Hong Kong in a few days to pursue new opportunities in Europe.
