With a «smile in one eye and a tear in the other» the new chief of BNY Mellon Investment Management in Singapore is starting this March, finews.asia can reveal.

Nicolas Kopitsis, former head of BNY Mellon in Switzerland, will act as the CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management Singapore, and also overseeing Intermediary business in APAC ex-Japan.

For the new role, he will relocate from Zurich to Singapore. He starts his new challenge as of 1st of March, according to information by finews.asia and confirmed by the company.

Exploring a new Continent

«With a smile in one eye and a tear in the other could not better express my feeling,» he said to finews.asia. «I will miss working with my colleagues in Switzerland but I am also looking forward to exploring a new continent, culture and professional challenge in the Far East.»

Amercian asset manager BNY Mellon Investment Management is based at One Temasek Avenue in Singapore. The company is one of the biggest U.S. investment companies with $1,6 trillion in assets under management.

In the Recruiting Process

In Switzerland, Juerg Zollinger, Head of Institutional Clients in Switzerland, has been appointed as Country Head and will also be in charge of the intermediary business ad interim, as finews.ch reported on Monday.

BNY Mellon is currently in the recruiting process for a Senior Sales Manager who will represent BNY Mellon Investments Switzerland in the Swiss Wholesale market. Juerg Zollinger will be supported by a well-established team, namely: Justine Mizrahi, Ulrike Beck, Mick Schneider, Ursula Hurdman and Felix Cabernard.
