«We have 43 applications from MNCs, SMEs and startups, broadly distributed among industries and nationalities. This is a great success and more than we have expected,» Georg von Wattenwyl, Chairman of SwissCham Singapore and CEO of Vontobel Asia, said.

Since the launch of the Digital Transformation Award in early July, the project team has received strong support and great feedback from industry leaders, Chambers in the European region, and government agencies. The Digital Transformation Award is a new initiative by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Singapore and in collaboration with Deloitte.

The objectives of the Award are to provide a platform for all organizations in Singapore to showcase their digitalization efforts in the ASEAN region and to recognize achievements in the fields of entrepreneurship and digital transformation.

Digital Maturity Model

To best showcase those 43 submissions’ digital transformation initiatives, the Award project team has decided to invite all companies to join the close-door pitching nights, where companies will have the chance to pitch their initiatives to the highly competent jury board of 26 members. They have been allocated into 5 subcategories: B2B, Product Digitalization, Process Digitalization, Advanced Manufacturing and Financial Services.

All juries will use the same evaluation model, which is based on the Digital Maturity Model developed by Deloitte. It will be used to evaluate all submissions, and leverage on the jury’s industry knowledge to shortlist companies for the public pitching evenings. This process will start on a weekly basis from October 28th to November 18th.

Public Pitching Evenings

SwissCham, together with all the supporting partners, will announce the shortlisted companies in each subcategory via the Digital Transformation Award Website and the social media platforms every Friday. Shortlisted companies will pitch their digital transformation initiatives in the public pitching evenings on November 25 and 26 from 5-6 PM scheduled as follows:

  • November 25, 5-6 PM: Process Digitalization, Financial Services, Product Digitalization
  • November 26, 5-6 PM: B2B, Advanced Manufacturing

Participants will be able to vote for their supporting company & digital initiatives per subcategory. The voting will consider 20% of the total score counting. Stay tuned for the news and get your voting seat for the public pitching event here.

About Digital Transformation Award

Digital transformation has been an ongoing trend for the past years, but the pressure to innovate digitally has accelerated due to the impact of COVID-19 and the Singapore Government putting digitalization on top of the agenda.
With the introduction of the Digital Transformation Award, the SwissCham wants to offer a platform to all organizations in Singapore to showcase their digitalization efforts in the ASEAN region.

The award will recognize achievements in entrepreneurship and digital transformation that are closely linked to Swiss values and success factors (e.g. innovation, risk-taking culture). The aim of the award is to present best-in-class digital transformation initiatives, such as creating new ways of operating and growing businesses through the cloud, mobile, big data/AI, blockchain or the usage of other enabling technologies.
