SFC Extends Incumbent Chief’s Tenure
Hong Kong’s securities regulator has announced that its current chief executive officer will stay in office for another term.
The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has appointed current CEO Julia Leung to a further two-year term, according to a statement, effective 1 January 2026. Leung was first named to the role on 1 January 2023 and her current term concludes on 31 December 2025.
According to the regulator, the renewed term will enable Leung to advance key priorities in «regulatory reform, market development and seamless leadership transition – all to safeguard long-term operational continuity».
«The SFC has benefitted immensely from Julia’s strategic vision and dedication,» said SFC chairman Kelvin Wong. «Over the next two years, her focus on strategic initiatives – particularly in data, talent and succession planning – will further strengthen the Commission and consolidate Hong Kong’s premier global standing.»
