Ex-J. Safra Sarasin Banker Joins Crypto Wealth Firm
A 30-year private banking veteran has joined the Hong Kong unit of a US-headquartered crypto wealth management company.
Metalpha Technology Holding Limited has appointed Monique Chan as CEO of its Hong Kong-based licensed subsidiary LSQ Capital, according to a statement. Effective August 1, she will be responsible for building a digital asset-friendly family office platform.
Chan is a private banking veteran with more than 30 years of experience. She was most recently vice chair of Asia and Hong Kong branch manager at J. Safra Sarasin after joining as part of the acquisition of the Hong Kong and Singapore businesses of BMO Private Bank, where she was its Asia chief since 2015. Previously, she also held senior private banking roles at Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild and HSBC.
