Citi Nets Ex-UBS Executive for Markets Unit in Hong Kong
A former UBS executive has joined Citi’s markets unit in Hong Kong, finews.asia has learned.
Citi has appointed Laiman Wong as head of markets senior relationship management for Asia North, Australia, and Asia South, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia, effective September 2025. In the role, she will work closely with the US lender's product partners across wealth, banking & international. Based in Hong Kong, she reports to Cecile Gambardella and Betty Mah.
Wong joins from UBS where she was APAC head of senior relationship management and, until recently, APAC head of hedge fund origination. Previously, she held several senior markets and investment banking roles at Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered, Investor AB and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
