A 26-year private banking veteran has been named as Julius Baer's new group head for Greater China, finews.asia has learned.

Julius Baer appoints Salina Cheung as group head Greater China, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia, effective immediately. Based in Hong Kong, Cheung reports to Greater China head of private banking and Hong Kong branch manager David Shick.

Cheung has more than 26 years of private banking experience. She first joined Julius Bear in 2006 and held various senior front office roles, most recently as senior client partner for the Greater China market.

A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
