Real estate giant JLL has announced the appointment of a chief executive for its hotels and hospitality group in the region.

Nihat Ercan has been named CEO hotels & hospitality group, APAC, according to a statement, effective immediately. He succeeds Mike Batchelor who will become the group’s chairman. 

Based in Singapore, Ercan will also join the firm’s global hotels & hospitality group leadership team and further integrate the APAC business into the international hotel investment and advisory platform. 

Ercan has over 20 years of experience and first joined JLL’s hotels group in London in 2002 before relocating to Singapore in 2007. He was most recently a senior managing director and APAC head of investment sales within the group. Across his career, Ercan has personally led the sale of $10 billion in hotel transactions worldwide.

According to the firm, JLL is the largest hospitality investment advisor in APAC with over 110 experts across the region.

«Asia Pacific’s hotels and hospitality sector will continue to develop rapidly in the coming years supported by extremely favorable macroeconomic factors, enhanced connectivity, and the rise of a more diverse range of business and leisure travellers,» said Ercan.
