Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of a new head of consumer, private and business banking for Hong Kong.

Stephen Man has been named head of consumer, private and business banking (CPBB) for Hong Kong, according to a statement, effective immediately. Man succeeds Lay Choo Ong who will be moving back to Singapore to take on a new role as global head, client engagement strategy, wealth management.

In his new role, Man reports to Hong Kong chief executive Mary Huen as well as head of CPBB Asia and global head of digital business Samir Subberwal.

Man rejoined Standard Chartered in 2019, following a three-year stint with Citic, and was most recently its deputy head of CPBB for Hong Kong. He first joined Standard Chartered in 1997.
