Credit Suisse has appointed a head of external asset managers for the region, finews.asia has learned, with the hire of a former UBS private banker.

Hugo van Kattendijke joins Credit Suisse as head of EAM APAC, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia, reporting to global head of EAM Andreas Oggier alongside a dotted reporting line to APAC head of wealth management Benjamin Cavalli.

Van Kattendijke will be based in Singapore and will take on the new role, effective June 13 this year.

He joins from UBS where he led its APAC EAM teams in Hong Kong and Singapore since 2018. Previously, he also held other senior roles including head of asset servicing for the region.

Sascha Zehnter to HQ

The former head of the business in the region and 20-year EAM veteran, Sascha Zehnter, has been appointed head of EAM in Europe, effective July 1, and he will relocate to Zurich for the new role.

«I would like to thank [Zehnter] for his dedication and substantial contribution to the development and growth of the EAM APAC business over the last seven years,» Oggier said in the memo.

«I am confident that we have a strong structure and the best teams in place to continue to be successful and achieve our objectives.»
