The appointments, announced on Wednesday, were made to reinforce its operations in Singapore, and comes fresh off the back of its strategic fundraise from UBS, Singtel Innov8 and Samsung.

With 15 years of financial services industry experience, Dominic Ong, chief financial officer and head of strategic partnerships, joins from quantitative asset manager Rayliant Global Advisors, where he was was head of strategy and business development in Asia-Pacific.

He previously spent a decade at Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong and Singapore, where he held several senior positions, and advised banks and private equity firms on strategy at McKinsey & Company in Australia.

New Risk Head

The Singapore-headquartered fintech has also hired Valerie Tan as head of risk and compliance, bringing over 20 years of experience in the financial sector.

She has held senior leadership roles in major global banks, most recently at Standard Chartered. She previously worked at Credit Suisse, DBS, JP Morgan Singapore and London and KPMG earlier in her career.

Technology Boost

New VP of engineering Deepak Sarda brings 17 years of technology experience. He joins Endowus from Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he was head of developer solutions architecture for Asean.

He previously spent over a decade in financial services, including at JPMorgan Chase & Co. He will be responsible for leading a high-performance engineering team in developing Endowus’ technology platform, and will expand the company's team of software engineers.

Strong Growth

The pandemic period has proven beneficial for Endowus – as of June-end this year, client assets surged 670 percent year-on-year to exceed S$1 billion ($740 million), a milestone reached in just 20 months since its launch.

Gregory Van, Endowus chief executive officer, said the hires will bolster company's expansion plans, and that it will continue growing the team with industry veterans.

The company previously said it plans to enter the Hong Kong market later this year.
