The Hong Kong-based veteran investment banker previously helped Citi build its investment banking franchise in the region.

Jefferies has hired a Hong Kong-based veteran investment banker Chris Laskowski as its Asia investment banking head, according to a «Bloomberg» report on Thursday, citing a memo that was confirmed by the firm.

He joins the investment bank from private equity and venture capital firm MSA Capital, where he served as the chief executive of one of the its sponsored special purpose acquisition companies.

Laskowski was previously chairman of Citi's APAC investment banking operating committee and chief operating officer of its APAC corporate and investment banking business, leaving earlier this year after 24 years at the U.S. lender.
