New Exec to Lead Citi's HR Strategy in Southeast Asia

His responsibilities include overseeing leadership development, talent management, HR business partnerships, compensation and benefits, and diversity and inclusion.

Citi has appointed Joel Fastenberg as head of human resources, Singapore and ASEAN, overseeing the bank's HR strategy in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, the bank announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Fastenberg, who joined Citi in 2011, was most recently head of human resources for Citigroup Japan. His HR experience across the financial services industry also includes three years as managing director and global head of human resources at investment management firm Millennium in New York, and eight years at Goldman Sachs in New York and Tokyo.

He will report to Stephen Cronin, senior chief human resources officer APAC and Amol Gupte, ASEAN head and Citi country officer for Singapore. Fastenberg will also join the bank's management committee in Singapore, country coordinating committee for Singapore and the ASEAN management team, the announcement said.
