Banque Internationale à Luxembourg names the successor to Betty Tsui, the bank’s former chief executive for Hong Kong.

Hanzhi Ding joins as BIL’s new CEO in Hong Kong and will responsible for the development of the bank’s wealth management business across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area in China. 

Ding was most recently with Chinese investment bank Huatai International where he served as its chief strategist, head of business development and head of investment research. 

International Chinese Clients

According to a statement, BIL has been actively bolstering its coverage of Chinese clients in recent times with the launch of a representative office in Beijing alongside dedicated wealth management Chin desks in Luxembourg and Switzerland.

«With the support of its main shareholder Legend Holdings, [BIL] has been ramping up its services for Chinese clients over the past year,» the statement said. Founded in 1856, BIL is the oldest private bank in Luxembourg which includes two owners: Legend Holdings and the local government, a minority shareholder.
