The former managing partner of a leading family office in Hong Kong and Singapore has been appointed as CEO of Hywin International, the Hong Kong arm of Hywin Wealth, finews.asia can exclusively reveal.

Starting in mid November, Nick Xiao will be the CEO of Hywin International, the Hong Kong arm of Hywin Wealth.

Hywin Wealth is a leading independent wealth manager from China, with more than 2,000 staff serving 100,000 high-net-worth clients from 150 business locations in Mainland China, Hong Kong, the U.K., and the U.S. The firm recently entered into a strategic collaboration with VP Bank of Liechtenstein to jointly unlock the potentials of Chinese clients rapidly globalizing their wealth, as finews.asia also exclusively reported.

Xiao, a family office «guru», is excited at his new venture. «Hywin is the perfect wealth manager for clients, by its humility, loyalty, professionalism, and global execution platforms across the financial centers of Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, and New York,» he explained in an interview on Wednesday with finews.asia.

Built on Expertise – Not Complexity

«Hywin is also the perfect wealth manager for institutional partners and the capital market,» Xiao added, «a large high-net-worth client base with unrivaled growth rate; enormous synergies with private banks, asset managers, and investment banks; focussed pure-play model built on expertise, not complexity or expensive balance sheet deployment; high-quality, cycle-neutral revenues backed by high weighting of management fees/advisory fees and geographical diversification.»

Hywin International provides wealth management, asset management, and insurance brokering services to Chinese and global clients, through entities including Hywin Asset Management (Hong Kong), Hywin Global Asset Management, and Hywin International Insurance Broker.

Madame Dian Wang, (pictured above) the CEO of Hywin Wealth, told finews.asia: «Nick Xiao is a capable and trusted pair of hands to take Hywin’s Hong Kong business to the next level. He also brings new perspectives to my senior team, and much wit to client events.»

«A strengthened Hywin International, as the gateway between China and the world, is yet another boost to the ‹onshore – near offshore – far offshore› global proposition of Hywin Wealth,» Madame Wang added.

Mentors and Friends For Years

When asked how he met Hywin Wealth, Xiao confides: «Some members of the owner family have been my mentors and friends for years. There is no better way to repay such kindness than join the firm to contribute, in my small ways, to its great global ambition.»
