Indian Billionaire's Body Recovered

V.G. Siddhartha went missing on Monday evening. His body has since been found near the bridge at which he was last seen.

The founder of Cafe Coffee Day, Indian entrepreneur and billionaire V.G. Siddhartha, was found dead early Wednesday morning, some 36 hours after he went missing, Indian news agency ANI reported.

His body was recovered by a group of fishermen on the banks of the Netravati River, near Hoige Bazaar in Mangaluru at 6:30 a.m., a police spokesperson said to ANI.

«Tremendous Pressure»

Days before he went missing, Siddhartha, 58, reportedly wrote a letter to board members and employees of Cafe Day, in which he apologized for not creating «the right profitable business» despite his best efforts, saying that he was under «tremendous pressure» from «one of the equity partners.»

A massive massive search operation involving multiple search agencies was launched on Monday evening after Siddharta went for a stroll across a bridge near Mangaluru in Karnataka, but did not emerge from the other side.
