Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore has appointed an insurance and banking veteran as its new chief to replace outgoing CEO James Tan.

Christopher Teo Sze Teck has taken the role of chief executive officer at Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore (TMLS) on Thursday, the company said in a press statement. He replaces James Tan, who was chief of TMLS from 2016 to November 2018.

Teo has close to 27 years of experience in the insurance and banking industry, and has held leadership positions in Singapore and Asia including appointments as Chief Executive and General Director of Vietinbank-Aviva Life Insurance Company (Vietnam) Alternate Principal Officer and Chief Operations Officer of Manulife Singapore and President and Chief Executive of Manulife Insurance (Thailand) Public Company. 

Recent Roles

His recent roles include being the senior vice president of business development at NTUC Income Insurance Co-Operative Limited and before that, the chief executive officer as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Professional Investment Advisory Services.
