The chief innovator at UBS' private bank in Singapore has left the Swiss bank.

Ketan Samani is leaving UBS: the chief digital officer of the Swiss bank's global wealth management arm in Asia confirmed to finews.asia that he is on gardening leave. The banker had been with UBS for the past three years, during which he built up and ran UBS' Singapore-based «Evolve» laboratory.

The experimental factory spawned several products and applications for UBS' wealthy clientele, for example in simplifying communication with them. Samani told finews.com last year that Evolve's efforts had resulted in dramatically more interaction between clients and private bankers.

The departure of Samani, who joined the Swiss bank from DBS in 2015, was first reported by «Asian Private Banker». Previously, Samani worked in digital transformation projects for several financial firms, including Standard Chartered und Barclays.
